Leeds have had some odd players over the last ten years but how well do you remember them. Starting with the most recent one, who is this?

One of the topics that he spent a brief amount of time on was transfers.

The Whites spent nothing in the winter transfer window but spent just under £100m in the last summer transfer window, and Hay revealed which positions Leeds were looking to strengthen in the upcoming transfer window.

He said: (51:38) “These things are always quite fluid, [they are] still to figure out whether or not Bielsa will be here next season. I think the likelihood is that he will, and he can bob and weave a little bit with what he’s looking for his attitudes can change depending on what he sees through pre-season or who he thinks has developed.

“We will see a sizable number or at least a decent chunk [of signings]; I am absolutely certain they will go for a left-back.

(52:25) “They will try and get cover for Kalvin Phillips; I do expect them as well to go for a midfielder further up the pitch, whether that’s a ten or an eight or some sort of hybrid.”

Do you think these are the positions that Leeds need to strengthen?

TIF Thoughts on Leeds transfers…

The Whites have done well in the Premier League this season, but the positions that Hay picks out are clearly the areas in which Leeds need to improve.

At left-back, they have mainly played Ezgjan Alioski this season, but his contract expires at the end of the season, and he hasn’t signed a new deal yet, leaving a potential gap in that area.

Without Kalvin Phillips in the side, the Whites have won just two league games and conceded 15 goals, highlighting the need for someone to cover for him when he is unavailable.

Leeds also only have three players who are natural central midfielders, and one of them, Adam Forshaw, is injured, so we can see why Bielsa would be looking at strengthening that position, too.

We will have to see what the Whites do in the transfer window this summer, but it is clear where they need to strengthen.
