Leeds United supporters have been reacting on Twitter after it was announced that Diego Llorente had made Luis Enrique’s latest Spain squad, while Rodrigo missed out.

The former Real Sociedad centre-back has started the last four consecutive Premier League fixtures for Marcelo Bielsa’s men, his longest run in the side since arriving last summer in a £18m move.

Llorente has impressed for the Elland Road outfit in recent weeks, helping the Whites to keep two clean sheets in the four games he has started since making his return from injury, achieving a respectable WhoScored rating of 6.78 in the process.

However, after only completing 451 minutes of top-flight action this season, several sections of the Leeds support are evidently concerned that his international call-up could have a negative impact on the 27-year old’s fitness.

“Don’t get injured”

@JayCoyle9

“Oh no”

@LeeTheEel_

“Bet he comes back in an ambulance. Should not be going. Priority is staying fit for us.”

@ScottLUFC2

“Just when he’s been fixed. Will only go and get broken again.”

@CheadleWhite

“Don’t let him go. We don’t want him getting injured.”

@Weysider

“Very suprised Rodrigo isn’t there. He started 3 games for Spain last year with Llorente against Portugal.”

@fcprosweat

“Please don’t get injured”

@josh1997lucas

“Better not get injured!!!”

@JamesTetley4986

Leeds have impressed throughout their first season back in the Premier League following a 16-year absence, but their leaky defence has been a weak point, and it’s understandable why these supporters are concerned about their star centre-half’s fitness.
