Many Leeds United supporters have been reacting to a post on Twitter after Kalvin Phillips posted a picture of himself while on England duty.

After impressing for Marcelo Bielsa’s men this season in his 21 Premier League starts, Gareth Southgate selected the 25-year-old for England’s upcoming World Cup qualifiers.

The Leeds academy graduate won his fifth international cap for the Three Lions in Thursday’s comfortable 5-0 victory over minnows San Marino at Wembley, much to the delight of the Elland Road faithful.

Phillips uploaded an image of himself in his England kit with the caption ‘no greater feeling,’ a sentiment that many Leeds fans appeared to echo in the comments below.

“Well done Kalvin! Proud of you!”

@DannyWright82

“Congrats on another brill performance for country Kalvin, really nailing down your position in the team”

@FootballvsCovid

“So proud. You’re the only person I watch when England playing. Imperious last night. Keep going mate.”

@mick_dickinson

“Brilliant achievement”

@SportsFire3

“Love to see it”

@DanielGotel

“You deserve every success in football, the sky is your limit, and all us Leeds fans are so proud of our own grown talent, that you are, walking out of that tunnel with @lufc shirt on, and now #englandinternational well done, keep representing and proving the doubters wrong”

@JordanLUFCWilko

Southgate’s side have fixtures against Albania and Poland coming up over the next few days, and although Phillips faces stiff competition from West Ham United’s Declan Rice for the holding role at the base of England’s midfield, the Leeds man will perhaps be hopeful that he did enough in midweek to earn himself another cap.
