Joe Thomlinson hosted the latest edition of the Sunday Vibes show where they graded each Premier League manager for their performances this season.

Thomlinson spoke highly of Scott Parker and his side but highlighted Joachim Andersen, in particular, for his displays in the 2020/21 campaign.

The Cottagers brought Andersen to London in October from Ligue 1 side Lyon on a season-long loan which has seen the Danish international feature 23 times in the Premier League this season (via Transfermarkt).

Fulham currently find themselves in 18th place, however, their recent form will fill them with confidence that they can climb out of the relegation zone with just nine games to go but only a one-point deficit to 17th-placed Newcastle United (via Premier League).

Speaking about Fulham, Thomlinson had this to say on their 24-year-old centre back.

He said: “They definitely look more solid at the back recently, and that is largely down, I would say, to Andersen. I do really like Tosin [Adarabioyo] as well.

“I have been seriously impressed by Andersen. He just seems to better and better, and I know that it was kind of a risky pickup, in the sense that people weren’t sure whether his reputation was as high as it once was, but he’s been unreal with [Alphonse] Areola back there.”

TIF Thoughts on Thomlinson’s comments…

Fulham have turned around their poor form in recent weeks which has seen them close the gap on Steve Bruce’s Magpies to just one point. The Whites had only conceded two goals in their last seven Premier League games until they faced the in-form Manchester City and lost 3-0.

However, the defensive turnaround has arguably been a major factor in Fulham’s fight for survival and Andersen has been played a large role in that, having started every game in their campaign so far.
