First up in this Gareth Barry quiz, which club did Villa sign the midfielder from?

Decordova-Reid is Fulham’s top goalscorer in the Premier League this season with five goals and has made 25 league appearances for Scott Parker’s men.

This is his second full season in the Premier League after one campaign with Cardiff City, and overall he has scored ten goals and provided three assists in 52 appearances, which is a decent record.

Therefore, Sky Sports pundit Lee Hendrie thinks Villa should sign the Fulham man.

He said: “If Fulham do go down, I just feel that there’s possibly a couple of players I would certainly look at in that team that would certainly stand out for me. [Harrison] Reed in the midfield, [Ademola] Lookman and Bobby Decordova-Reid, he’s one again that I’d certainly have, and he would play week in, week out.”

TIF Thoughts on Decordova-Reid…

It seems interesting that Hendrie thinks that Decordova-Reid, who is valued at £9 million (as per Transfermarkt), would play regularly for Villa if they were to sign him. Considering he is naturally an attacking midfielder, he could be the ideal replacement for Ross Barkley when his loan ends.

However, Decordova-Reid is versatile, so if Villa were to bring him in, they would be signing someone who can play in various positions, and we would be intrigued to see Villa make a move for him in the summer if Fulham go down.

Scott Parker’s men are embroiled in a relegation battle, and if they stay up, then you would think it would be harder for Villa to sign Decordova-Reid, so from Villa’s point of view, they could be hoping Fulham go down, so they can heed Hendrie’s advice and buy the Jamaica international.
