However, he has impressed for the Cherries in the Premier League, so Villa wouldn’t be signing an unproven talent.
In 39 Premier League appearances, Brooks has scored eight goals and provided five assists, which is a decent record.
Certainly, Hendrie would like to see Villa sign the Welsh international.
He said: “I’m a big fan of David Brooks. I’ve seen a fair bit of him this season, and he’s an absolute talent; he really is. He’s a young man with bags of ability, and I think if he comes into Villa, I think he’d be a great addition.
“He reminds me of Jack [Grealish]. He’s very slight, he’s very mobile, and, again, he’s another player that could set the Prem on fire if he’s given a chance.”
Would you want to see Villa sign Brooks?
Yes, he would be the ideal addition
No, we can do better
TIF Thoughts on Brooks moving to Villa…
The 23-year-old is versatile and can play as an attacking midfielder or as a second striker; however, his natural position is as a right-winger.
Currently, in Villa’s squad, they only have two natural right-wingers in Bertrand Traore and Anwar El Ghazi and a few others who can play that position, so you would think that Brooks could be the ideal player to bring in to compete with those two.
However, the Cherries still have a chance of winning promotion from the Championship as they are three points off the play-off spots, and if they were to be promoted, you would think that could harm Villa’s chances of signing Brooks.
We will have to see what happens, but if Villa can sign Brooks, then we agree with Hendrie that he could be a great signing.
