Some Leeds United supporters have taken to Twitter to criticise the performance of Luke Ayling in Saturday’s early kickoff.

The 29-year-old defender has started all of Leeds’ 28 Premier League games this season, including today’s encounter with Chelsea, achieving a very respectable WhoScored rating of 6.94.

The Elland Road outfit have enjoyed their first campaign back in the Premier League after a 16-year absence, and Ayling has contributed heavily to their success.

However, it appears as if some fans weren’t too pleased with the defender at various points in the game, despite him receiving a rather respectable rating.

“Luke Ayling is such a liability. How does he keep getting minutes?”

@odkaac

“Ayling single handedly making this game harder for all our players”

@Jimmy_L_UFC

“What position is Ayling playing cause he’s not at RB”

@Higgins1873

“Ayling the only weak link imo”

@jamesxlufc

“Ayling go so far forward Harrison is RB he’s destroying any attacks down that right”

@Jimmy_L_UFC

“What was Ayling thinking”

@roblufc_

“Said it before and I’ll keep saying it That Ayling flop looks pathetic every time”

@Elvidge501

It’s clear that these Leeds fans weren’t best pleased with what they saw from Ayling in today’s performance, though a clean sheet can never be frowned upon and he wasn’t the worst performer on the field for Leeds, so perhaps some of the judgements are a bit harsh.
