An easy one to kick off our quiz on the 2020 summer transfer window in the EFL, which player left Birmingham City to join Borussia Dortmund?

Carvalhal was in charge at Hillsborough for 131 matches and led Wednesday to positions of sixth, fourth and left the club with the Owls in 15th place.

He also reached the Championship play-off final, only to be beaten by Steve Bruce’s Hull City side.

The Portuguese manager has previously admitted that he could see himself returning and recently hinted at his desire to do so, but Palmer claimed that he couldn’t see that happening.

He said: “Well, Carlos did well, I mean, did really well. I mean, they went to the play-off final with Carlos and then into the play-offs [the following season]. So, yeah, never say never. But I always think once you’ve moved on, you’ve moved on. Do you know what I mean? Even Sir Alex Ferguson going back to Manchester United wouldn’t be the same. I think once you’ve moved on, you’ve moved on.”

Would you like Carvalhal back at some point?

TIF Thoughts on Carvalhal…

Carvalhal did very well while he was at Wednesday, but he could never quite achieve promotion, and we wonder if maybe he has had his time at Hillsborough?

The Owls are currently embroiled in a relegation battle and are six points from safety, but they did win at the weekend to give themselves a fighting chance.

They also recently appointed Darren Moore. Given that he has League One experience, you would think that even if Wednesday are relegated, they might decide to keep Moore, so we can’t see the job becoming vacant anytime soon.

We think that it is probably better for Wednesday fans to remember what Carvalhal did while he was at the club and leave it at that.
