Leeds United fans have been reacting to the latest news regarding Ezgjan Alioski and his future at the club.

The 29-year-old Macedonian is out of contract at the end of the season, and a recent report from Turkish outlet Milliyet (via TEAMtalk) recently claimed that he was in the process of completing a deal with Turkish side Galatasaray. Now, a further report from Football Insider has claimed that the deal has indeed been completed on a pre-contract basis and he will move at the end of the season.

This talk prompted a fan to ask The Athletic journalist Phil Hay on Twitter whether or not there was any truth in the matter, to which he responded that whilst there was “nothing agreed with Leeds”, but claimed that “Galatasaray talk is very strong”.

So it’s a case of who you believe whether the deal is done or not, but the writing does seem to be on the wall that Alioski is on his way out, which led some fans to claim that it’s now time for them to look to the future, which meant that he shouldn’t be in the team between now and the end of the season:

“Shouldn’t play another game for us”
“New club aside, surely we won’t be looking to play him if he’s agreed a pre-contract elsewhere? Can’t imagine him being 100% committed to us if he’s signed elsewhere”
“He just isn’t good enough for us anyway.”
“Should never put a Leeds shirt on again if true!”
“If he’s off he’s off, playing him now is pointless get Leif Davis in so he’s ready for next year”
“With him likely to leave surely we should give Leif Davis a few games left-back before end of season. Wouldn’t mind seeing Struijk or Higgins get a look left-back now either both have played U23 games left-back.”

Is Ezgjan Alioski one of your favourite Leeds players?

No, he's not that good

No, he's not that good

Yes, he's a class player

Yes, he's a class player

Whichever claim turns out to be accurate, you do suspect that some of the anger might stem from who he is claimed to be joining, given the history surrounding the two clubs.
