Leeds United fans have been reacting to a tweet sent out by insider Phil Hay regarding potential transfers.

There have been some reports in recent days suggesting that Leeds United are in the running alongside the likes of Liverpool and Real Madrid to sign Rennes midfielder Eduardo Camavinga. The 18-year-old is currently valued at £54m on Transfermarkt, and has already made three appearances for the French national team, which suggests how highly he is touted as a star in the making.

However, when asked about his take on the rumours by someone on Twitter, Hay was quick to dismiss the talk with a simple ‘crying with laughter’ emoji, which would indicate just how likely the deal is to happen.

This didn’t go down incredibly well with these fans on social media, who obviously had some hope of the deal getting done at some point:

“Day ruined”

“Fun whilst it lasted”
“Cheers Phil. Crying now. Nice one”
“Alright Phil thank you for making me cry”
“Thanks Phil”
“Phil sums it up well”

Should Leeds spend heavily in the summer?

Yes

Yes

No

No

So, if we’re going off Hay’s reaction at the very least, it looks as if there won’t be a reunion between Camavinga and his ex-teammate Raphinha at Elland Road anytime soon.
