Leeds United fans have flocked to Adam Pope’s tweet, revealing David Coote will be the man in charge of their next fixture against Fulham.

Marcelo Bielsa’s men have impressed in their first season back in the Premier League after a 16-year absence, and they’ll be looking to strengthen their 12th-placed position on Friday night.

They travel to Craven Cottage to take on Scott Parker’s men after holding Chelsea to a draw last time out and could take a further step towards survival with a victory, which would take them up to 39 points.

However, the West Yorkshire side have a poor record when taking on teams in the capital, and many of their supporters believe Leeds’ task on Friday has been made harder after Coote was confirmed as the referee.

“Loss incoming. One of the worst this season.”

@ScottLUFC2

“David Coote is dreadful.”

“Nervous .. would love a goal-fest. In our favour of course!”

@AshtheBashx

“Loss incoming. The curse continues!!”

@Roicrabier2017

“Guaranteed loss then”

@OgleyNiall

“Another awful ref.”

@JK3867

“Coote as ref, Craig Pawson on VAR and we’re in London. What could possibly go wrong?”

@ShaunPK92

Fulham will be desperate to take all three points on home territory as they aim to escape the relegation zone, so the Whites will have to be at their best, no matter who the man in the middle is.
