Leeds United fans have been reacting to comments made by Dean Windass about what the club can achieve next season.
Marcelo Bielsa’s men have had a very impressive start to life back in the Premier League, finding themselves comfortably in mid-table and earning plenty of admirers along the way, but just what are their ambitions for the long-term and what can they achieve next season?
Speaking in an interview with Football FanCast, former Premier League player Windass thinks that with a little bit of extra spending, it’s possible for the club to get back into the top four just like they were at the turn of the century.
He said: “If he brings in five or six quality, £40million players, they could be in the top-four next year.”
And when his comments were relayed to fans on the Leeds Insider Facebook page, there didn’t seem to be too many fans that were willing to join him with his ambitions, as they opted for a more cautious approach to proceedings:
Can Leeds reach the Champions League in 5 seasons?
The club have openly discussed the idea of being in the Champions League eventually, but to do so in just their second season would be a huge jump for them to make.
