A lot of Leeds United fans have taken to Facebook to respond to a report on former winger and academy graduate Jack Clarke.

The 20-year-old signed for Tottenham Hotspur in 2019 for a fee believed to be in the region of £8.5m but has failed to nail down consistent game time at the north London side.

Since signing for Spurs, Clarke has only made three appearances for the Lilywhites with a total of 51 minutes on the pitch for Jose Mourinho’s side (via Transfermarkt).

A Leeds Live article on the winger’s development relayed comments from Stoke manager Michael O’Neill stating that Clarke was ‘still adapting’ while on loan for the Potters, and appeared to hint towards their followers that a Leeds comeback may be best for him.

In response, some Leeds fans praised their academy graduate, with some calling for his return.

The £4.5m-rated winger is currently playing his football out on loan at Stoke after joining the Championship side in January for the remainder of the season.

However, it appears some of the Leeds faithful would be open to their side making a move for their former winger, with O’Neill admitting he could look at bringing Clarke back to Stoke ahead of next season.

Despite having not played for the club since November 2019, it is clear that the academy graduate holds a special place in these Leeds fans’ memories and their calls to have him back demonstrate this. Perhaps his low game time at Spurs and perceived lack of adaptation elsewhere have prompted these calls for Clarke to return to Elland Road.
