Leeds United fans have flocked to Phil Hay’s tweet after the journalist provided an injury update on Marcelo Bielsa’s squad.

The Elland Road outfit held high-flying Chelsea to a goalless draw last time out and travel to Craven Cottage to take on Scott Parker’s Fulham in the Friday night fixture.

Bielsa saw his star striker Patrick Bamford leave the field injured after just 35 minutes last weekend when the 27-year-old picked up an injury after colliding with Antonio Rudiger.

His replacement, summer signing Rodrigo, was also substituted with over 10 minutes left to play, and Hay has revealed the Spain international remains a doubt for Friday’s clash, while Bamford is expected to have recovered in time.

The journalist also added that club captain Liam Cooper remains absent from Bielsa’s side as the Scotsman is still suffering from an illness, but it was Rodrigo’s continued bad luck that really grabbed the supporters’ attention:

“Sell Rodrigo too injury-prone and isn’t worth the money or wage.”

@ChellisMusic

“Lol 30mil for Rodrigo”

@Shortieyates04

“Big News”

@BigManBakar

“Why is Rodrigo always injured recently?”

@lufcxjack2

“Not happening for Rodrigo at the moment is it. Feel sorry for the lad. Was just building up a great relationship with Raphinha too”

@Tonylufc28

“Good news for Bamford but Rodrigo has been unlucky let’s hope it’s not too bad”

@wakefield1967

The former Valencia man has only started 12 Premier League games for the West Yorkshire side, largely due to injury, bagging just three goals in that time, so perhaps some of these reactions are justified.
