Leeds United fans have been reacting to an incredible goal scored by one of their young players on loan.
Footage emerged last night via journalist Adam Millington of 20-year-old Alfie McCalmont scoring a very impressive volley for Oldham Athletic, with his goal proving to be the winner as they ran out 2-1 winners over Exeter City in League Two.
There must be something in the water at Thorp Arch when it comes to goals from the young players, following on from Sam Greenwood’s impressive strike the other day, but with this one coming against a senior team, you probably have to say that this one was probably the better goal.
And when they saw the goal relayed to them on social media, Leeds fans could not contain themselves, with some praising the strike itself, whilst others used it as a chance to talk about what kind of future young McCalmont has in front of him:
“Was not expecting that finish! Brilliant technique”
Do you think Alfie McCalmont has what it takes to break into the Leeds first team next season?
Yes
No
It just makes you wonder if this is the kind of moment that would make Marcelo Bielsa take notice, maybe ahead of bringing him back into the fold next season.
