Leeds United supporters have been reacting to an outstanding save made by youth goalkeeper Harry Christy after Phil Hay retweeted his brilliant effort.

The 17-year-old has featured predominantly for the Under-18s side this season, conceding 27 efforts in nine league appearances as the Whites have struggled at the foot of the table.

However, Christy showed his ability while on duty for the Under-17s last time out, pulling off a magnificent save from a well-taken free-kick that was heading for the top corner.

The West Yorkshire outfit went on to lose the cup quarter-final tie 1-0 in extra time, but Christy’s moment of class caught the eye of Phil Hay and several sections of the Leeds fanbase.

“Brilliant save – not sure about the wall positioning though from that angle. Unreal save though”

“It was, lad is class”

Illan Meslier may have the No.1 jersey secured at Elland Road for now, but if Christy keeps pulling off saves like that, perhaps it won’t be long until we see a new face between the sticks. Clearly, some fans want Marcelo Bielsa to hand him a first-team contract.
