Journalist Dean Jones was talking about all things related to potential Premier League transfers this summer, which involved Leeds United.

Whilst discussing Leeds United’s terrific season so far, Jones mentioned the Yorkshire side could look at Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Adama Traore as a potential summer signing.

Traore joined Wolves in the summer of 2018 from Middlesbrough for a fee believed to be in the region of £18m after spending two seasons in Teeside. He’s now valued at £36 million (as per Transfermarkt).

The Spanish winger has featured 26 times for Wolves this season but is still yet to open his goal account this season in the league.

Asked whether Marcelo Bielsa deserves to be backed in the transfer market to bring in someone like the Wolves winger, Jones believes Traore is certainly a player which Leeds will look at over the summer given the success they’ve had out wide with Raphinha this season and the recent backing they’ve received from 49ers Enterprises.

“Yeah, 100%. I mean, Adama is somebody that they’ve had their eye on since the start of the season, pretty much, maybe even before,” Jones said.

“And that’s part of this new investment is definitely they have in mind that would be going towards a deal for him. So we’ll see whether that can come off.”

TIF Thoughts on Jones’ Traore link to Leeds…

Leeds have had a lot of success with their pace on the counter-attack this season through the likes of Raphinha, having scored the most counter-attacking goals in the league this year.

Therefore, Traore would arguably fit their style of play. Although we have seen the 25-year-old run certain games in the past, this season has not been as successful for him.

Traore was awarded the Wolves Foundation Player of the Season award for the 2019/20 season after scoring four goals and recording nine assists in the league and that is the sort of form which has gained him interest from other clubs.

Raphinha has been linked with a move away from Elland Road this summer with Liverpool reported as being interested and we believe Traore could make the perfect replacement if the Brazilian is to leave Yorkshire this summer.
