Speaking exclusively to GiveMeSport, Fabrizio Romano has said that Leeds are “fighting” to keep Marcelo Bielsa, but the Italian journalist believes the Argentine will remain at Elland Road next season.

Bielsa has done an incredible job in transforming Leeds following his appointment back in 2018, but is currently working on a year by year basis, meaning he only penned a 12-month contract prior to the start of the Premier League campaign last September.

Previously, Bielsa had signed a two-year contract with an option for a third-year, which he activated after the Whites were promoted back to the topflight after a 16-year absence.

Bielsa has continued his excellent work at Elland Road this term to put Leeds in with a great chance of achieving a top-half finish, and despite his deal in South Yorkshire heading into the final few months, Romano is confident that the 65-year-old will extend his stay at with the club.

Leeds have had some odd players over the last ten years but how well do you remember them. Starting with the most recent one, who is this?

He exclusively told GiveMeSport:

“I’m told they are planning with him, so they are fighting to keep Marcelo Bielsa as their manager. I think yes, they will go on with him. He’s doing an amazing job and they’re planning with him.

“Bielsa, we know he’s so particular as a person and not just as a manager. So let’s see what happens in the coming weeks and he will decide.

“But Leeds are planning, and I’m told they are not in advanced talks with Massimiliano Allegri.”
