Former Aston Villa midfielder Lee Hendrie thinks that Jack Grealish could go down as one of the all-time greats in the Premier League.

The 25-year-old Grealish is certainly one of the more productive players in the league with his 14 goals and 18 assists and counting in the past two seasons proving very important to Dean Smith’s side. It’s part of what has earned him the reputation as one of the best players in the league (BT Sport, via The Mirror). All that has gone a long way to driving the interest in him up so high, and Villa setting their asking price for him at as much as £100m.

And speaking in an exclusive interview with Football FanCast, Hendrie thinks that his legend could go far beyond that, and possibly into one of the greatest players to have ever played in the Premier League:

“I’ve had conversations with Jack, that he could go on and be the next best thing. It’s all down to him, and I feel that he believes that himself as well. I just think he’s at a stage now where, you know, lots of clubs are talking about him, the international scene, and I just feel that he is an immense talent that certainly can go on and be one of the best Premier League players of all time, I really do.

“He’s got that individual brilliance that not many have. I’ve always said to Jack, ‘you just keep doing that sort of thing’.”

Do you think Grealish will still be an Aston Villa player at the beginning of next season?

No, he will leave us

No, he will leave us

Yes, he's loyal to us

Yes, he's loyal to us

The question now is whether or not he’ll be able to achieve that status whilst being stuck with Aston Villa or if he will have to move to a bigger club in order to improve his legacy, rather than just being stuck with his current side.

Much like the Harry Kane debate and how winning a major trophy could help his status within the game, the same discussion could be had about Grealish before too long.
