Fans of Glasgow Celtic have taken to Twitter to criticise the first-half performance of Hoops centre-back, Shane Duffy, in the Bhoys’ fixture against St Johnstone.
Since joining Celtic on a season-long loan deal back in September of last year, Duffy has so far gone on to make 17 Scottish Premiership appearances for the Bhoys, scoring three goals and averaging a WhoScored match rating of 7.33 – ranking him as the club’s fifth-best performer in the Scottish top flight, prior to the St Johnstone fixture.
However, after being an unused substitute in the club’s recent games against Kilmarnock and Motherwell, and featuring for just 22 minutes against St. Mirren, Neil Lennon decided to give the £6.3 million-rated 29-year-old a start against St Johnstone.
Although, it would appear that the 6 foot 4 centre-back’s display has not best pleased large swathes of the Parkhead fan base, with many taking to Twitter to criticise the first-half display of Duffy.

So, what exactly did these Celtic fans have to say in reaction to Shane Duffy’s performance?
“Hahaha Shane Duffy is consistently hilarious man what a head on him.”
“I have the fear watching this game with Duffy back there.”
“Big Duffy defends the oppositions penalty box better than his own.”
“Every time Shane Duffy touches the ball my heart drops.”
“Barkas can’t get a game because he’s not been world-class but Shane Duffy plays week after week despite being the worst player I’ve ever seen at Celtic. The absolute state of this club from top to bottom brought on by the arrogance of the board and a manager who only cares about £.”
“Ajer can’t be doing his VVD impression today. He loses the ball and you’re depending on Duffy running like that dream you have when you’re going nowhere.”
“Seriously what is the point of Shane Duffy??”
“Duffy is a complete cart horse. Lost ball and completely gave up on it. Too busy being annoyed at himself. Not a professional bone in his body.”
“Unreal how bad Duffy is man, wow! He literally can’t do anything, bar boot it up the park.”
