Celtic fans have piled on praise for their opponents St. Mirren tonight, or more specifically their ground staff.
Given the large amount of snow that has fallen in the past few days, and other fixtures in Scotland already falling victim to the conditions, you’d be forgiven in thinking that the game might also be under threat from going ahead.
And whilst the league title might be out of reach for Neil Lennon’s men, they still have to keep winning in order to keep ahead of Hibernian in the race for European football, which this season means a place in the Champions League qualifiers for next season. So getting the game out of the way rather than having to make up for it later on in the season would be beneficial for them.
So when the St. Mirren Twitter account posted this picture of the pitch looking in rather impressive condition, Celtic supporters couldn’t contain themselves from being impressed at the state of it:
“Well done to ground staff and for social media team for letting us know …let’s be honest many of us doubted it !”
“Pitch looks class”
Now it’s up to the players to put in a performance to match the pitch.
