Pundit Kevin Graham has recently slammed Celtic’s treatment of their star striker Albian Ajeti.

Graham appeared as a guest on the latest episode of the ‘A Celtic State of Mind’ podcast and the panel discussed multiple issues involving the Bhoys. One topic of discussion was the situation of Albian Ajeti. Graham questioned why the Swiss forward is still living in a hotel room in Glasgow and he believes that the club should be sorting this out.

Ajeti signed for Celtic in the summer of 2020, as the Bhoys signed him permanently for a fee of £4.5 million. On signing for the Parkhead-based side, Ajeti had hailed Odsonne Edouard’s abilities and he had expressed his willingness to pair up with the Frenchman in the future (as per BBC Sport). The forward is currently valued at £4.05m.

Graham believes that if Ajeti is living in a hotel room, the Hoops should be sorting out his situation soon.

He said (35:33): “So it is completely different but why is Ajeti still in a hotel room? Why’s he still staying at a hotel? The club need to sort that out. The club should be sorting this out for the players. It’s been really difficult for them but then again, that’s another failing in the coaching staff. That’s another failing in the infrastructure of the club.”

TIF Thoughts on Graham’s comments on Ajeti…

In the current campaign, Ajeti has scored six league goals and he also has three assists to his name. He did get one assist in the Europa League. Five of his league goals came in the first half of the campaign and his recent goal against Kilmarnock came after a period of around four months (as per Transfermarkt).

This shows that while Ajeti has scored some goals, he hasn’t exactly been consistent in the campaign. While it isn’t easy to say whether that’s down to him living in a hotel or not but the Swiss forward might start to enjoy himself more when he’s completely settled into life in Glasgow.
