Fans of Celtic have taken to Twitter to criticise the display of Hoops attacking midfielder, Ryan Christie, in the Bhoys’ Scottish Premiership fixture against Ross County on Sunday.

Over his 25 Scottish Premiership appearances so far this season, Christie has been one of Neil Lennon’s stand out players, scoring four goals and providing seven assists, as well as averaging a WhoScored match rating of 7.41 – ranking him as the club’s second-best performer in the league, before Sunday’s match.

However, after Lennon handed the £8.10 million-rated 25-year-old his 20th league start of the season against Ross County, fans of Celtic appeared to be extremely disappointed with the display of the attacking midfielder, with many taking to Twitter to take aim at Christie’s apparent lack of effort in the match.

So, what exactly did these Celtic fans have to say in reaction to Ryan Christie’s performance against Ross County?

“Christie is a waste of space. Christie and Rogic should not be in the side. Lennon is clueless. The team has no shape whatsoever.”

@67HolyGrd

“Sick and tired of watching Lennon shake his head sitting in a huff!! Sick and tired of him trying to stick with Christie up front – it’s abysmal to watch!”

@KMcgunnigal

“Christie tonight couldn’t hit a barn door if he was swinging on the handle.”

@funnyhandshake

“Please please please get Christie off this pitch!”

@R_Fevers

“Christie should worry about his starting spot with Scotland. What a terrible player.”

@Hattrick_Hez

“He’s such a greedy and selfish player. Turnbull twice the player already.”

@Dryburgh_1990

“That is shocking from Christie… wild!”

@J003NAU

“Christie is awful.”

@sofmcxxx

“Christie is that bad at shooting he just hit the stand roof. Useless.”

@Stiby13

“Christie is worse than Shane Duffy”

@Lord_Bitton67

All in all, it would appear that these Celtic fans were far from happy with the performance of Christie against Ross County, and, considering the attacking midfielder missed the target with five of his seven shots, won one of his seven duels and lost possession of the ball 22 times in the game, it is not hard to understand why.
