Many Celtic fans have been left angry by the latest comments from St. Johnstone manager Callum Davidson.
The Hoops recently picked up a narrow 2-1 win at McDiarmid Park despite going 1-0 down in the tie, with Odsonne Edouard grabbing a brace in the space of a couple of minutes to help the Bhoys pick up all three points (as per BBC Sport).
After the game, Davidson made his frustration clear about two refereeing calls. He believes that Glenn Middleton was fouled before he took a shot. He also made his annoyance clear as St. Johnstone were denied a possible penalty prior to Edouard’s quickfire double and called for more ‘consistency’ in decision-making (as per the Daily Record).
Does Davidson sound bitter?
These comments were relayed on Twitter by the Daily Record. Many Celtic supporters were fuming at Davidson.
What did Celtic fans make of Davidson’s comments?
“Actually backs a sevco player after near crippling one of his players now whining because its the team in green hes playing. The inconsistency is from Davidson depending on which half of Glasgow hes playing. True colours shown.“
“He didn’t call out Roofe last week yet calls this? Nothing happened today.”
“Funny how he thought the Kemar Roofe assault on his player was deemed ok.”
In the game on Sunday, the Hoops had an overall team rating of 6.84, while St. Johnstone had a rating of 6.61. Neil Lennon’s men registered ten shots on goal, with the opposition registering six (as per WhoScored).
“This clown certainly is not constant he couldn’t find it in himself to condemn Roofe challenge on Murray Davidson. Now that Celtic are involved hes wanting consistency.”
“Another moon howler.“
Edouard’s brace meant that the Frenchman now has 15 Premiership goals in the current campaign and his tally in all competitions stands at 19 now. The former Paris Saint-Germain man has eight goals in his last six Premiership games (as per Transfermarkt).
“He seems more upset about this than the career-threatening tackle his player received at ibrox.”
