Many Celtic fans have been fuming at some transfer news that recently emerged on social media.

Swedish TV pundit Patrick Ekwall recently said that youngster Paulos Abraham rejected a last-minute offer from Celtic in the January transfer window before joining Dutch club FC Groningen. The pundit suggested that playing in the Eredivisie would’ve offered him a lot more security while playing first-team football and playing for Celtic would have put more pressure on his shoulders. Abraham is currently valued at £1.8 million.

The pundit couldn’t confirm the reason for why the young striker rejected a move to the Parkhead side. Nevertheless, this news about the youngster rejecting Celtic was relayed on Facebook by Read Celtic, where many Hoops fans made their opinions clear.

What did Celtic fans make of this transfer news?

The 18-year-old Abraham had made 27 appearances in all competitions for Swedish club AIK. He scored three goals and picked up four assists during this time for his former club. He is yet to play for Groningen.

Which club did Brown join Celtic from?

He has played three times for the Swedish Under-21s side and during that time, he has scored two times for the club. Some other Celtic fans also discussed the news about the young striker.

Celtic’s Odsonne Edouard has been linked with a move away from Parkhead and it has been stated that Celtic have reduced their asking price for the Frenchman. His current deal at the club runs out in the summer of 2022 and if he isn’t extending the contract, the Hoops might need to sell him in the summer if they don’t want to lose him on a free transfer.

So Celtic may need a potential Edouard replacement and considering Abraham’s age, he could have been that sort of player. Because of that, missing out on the Swede should come as a blow for the Bhoys.
