Many Celtic fans have been fuming at Ryan Christie following his performance in the club’s game against Aberdeen.

Christie started in the midfield for the Hoops at Parkhead against Aberdeen. He played alongside Callum McGregor and David Turnbull in the club’s 4-1-3-2 shape, operating behind the likes of Odsonne Edouard and Albian Ajeti (as per WhoScored).

While David Turnbull’s strike gave the Hoops an early lead, some Celtic fans weren’t happy with the fact that Christie was taking corners in the tie. They took to social media and made their views clear about this.

These Celtic fans are clearly not happy with Christie’s ability to take corners and some fans want David Turnbull to have that responsibility.

Which club did Brown join Celtic from?

Christie has played two key passes per game in the Premiership this season, which shows that he’s certainly a creative player on the ball. Turnbull though, has been the Hoops’ most creative player with a key-passes-per-game tally of 2.5 (as per WhoScored).
Meanwhile, Christie’s lack of dead-ball prowess has been noted in recent months – so it seems that these fans may be onto something.
It shows that while both the players are pretty creative, Turnbull perhaps is just a bit better than Christie in that regard. So it is easy to understand why some fans want the summer signing to take corners and not Christie.
