Many Celtic fans have been discussing a news update about Ryan Christie that recently emerged on social media.

Football Insider has recently reported about Christie’s situation, saying that the Hoops will try to tie the Scotsman down to a new contract ahead of the upcoming transfer window, despite interest from Premier League sides.

The report suggests that the next window would present Celtic’s last chance of securing a big fee for the midfielder, but that the Hoops haven’t given up hope of handing Christie a new deal.

Which club did Brown join Celtic from?

The report from Football Insider has stated that Celtic are facing an ‘uphill battle’ to get Christie tied down to a new deal but there’s a feeling at the club that the midfielder is more likely to sign a new deal than the likes of Kristoffer Ajer, Odsonne Edouard and Olivier Ntcham.

All of these Celtic fans are fuming at Christie and some of them feel that the former Inverness man wants a move away from Parkhead anyway.

Christie’s father has already said that the midfielder is an ‘ambitious’ character and insisted that clubs will be looking at this progress at Parkhead and it would be ‘mad’ for them to not look at the Scotsman. He also believes that his son can play at a very high level (as per the Daily Record).

This might be a suggestion of the fact that Christie could move on soon and if he does want to leave, the upcoming summer will indeed be the best chance of getting a fee from his sale and is therefore perhaps the preferred solution for most, if not all parties.
