Lots of Celtic supporters have been discussing a news update involving Callum McGregor that recently emerged on social media.

Football Insider has recently reported about McGregor’s situation, saying that the midfielder is now in line to become Celtic’s next captain and commit his career to the Parkhead-based side.

The report states that while McGregor has looked to depart Celtic in the past, the Bhoys blocked the sale and he is expected to replace Scott Brown as captain soon.

This season, he has already made 40 appearances in all competitions while playing 3,510 minutes for the first-team. Only 10 Celtic players have picked up better ratings than McGregor this season.

This shows his reliability and quality as a player and because of that, it isn’t a surprise that fans would be happy to see him become the captain.
