Many Celtic fans have been discussing a news update about Vasilis Barkas that recently emerged on social media.
Journalist Giannis Chorianopoulos recently tweeted about Barkas’ situation, saying that the goalkeeper may well be running out of time at Celtic considering that he wasn’t in the club’s squad for their game against Ross County.
The journalist stated that there is a possibility of Barkas getting loaned out in the summer, but returning to Greece isn’t an option for him right now.
Should Celtic move on from Barkas in the summer?
The journalist’s tweet drew the attention of many Celtic supporters, who made their views clear about Barkas’ situation at Parkhead.
What did Celtic fans make of this news about Barkas?
“He deserves a run in the team, Lennon trying to make a scapegoat out of him & divert the blame.“
“Treated appallingly….the manager is the issue not Barkas.”
“He’s playing behind Duffy, give the guy a break. Then you have Lennon makes him no.1 keeper only to drop him 1 game later and flip to Bain. New manager – new Season – Fresh start.“
Barkas had arrived at Parkhead from AEK Athens in the summer transfer window, as the Hoops shelled out an initial fee of £2.95 million. He had signed a four-year deal with the Bhoys (as per Sky Sports).
Since joining though, the Greek goalkeeper has made just 13 Premiership appearances and keeping ten clean sheets.
