A lot of Celtic supporters have been talking about the news involving Leigh Griffiths that recently emerged on social media.

Former Celtic player Frank McAvennie was recently talking to Football Insider about Griffiths. He described Griffiths as an ‘enigma’ and he expressed confusion about his relationship with former Hoops boss Neil Lennon.

The Celtic legend also said that Griffiths is the best finisher at Parkhead right now and he has to get his head right to play regularly.

What did Celtic fans make of the comments about Griffiths?

Griffiths had arrived at Celtic from Wolves in January 2014 and he has previously played for Hibernian and Dundee FC as well. The striker has now made as many as 254 appearances for the Hoops and during this period, he has found the back of the net 122 times while getting 55 assists.

Which club did Brown join Celtic from?

A lot of these Hoops fans don’t have a positive thing to say about Griffiths, with one fan claiming that the 30-year-old is approaching the end of his Celtic stint.

This season, the striker has played only 725 minutes of first-team football for the Hoops and while he’s scored six times, he’s not been a regular. The season had started in poor style for him as Lennon had publicly criticised him for turning up at the pre-season training camp in an overweight condition. Even later on, Griffiths was criticised for bad fitness.

That perhaps had a bearing on the striker’s season and it never started well either. So he has to get himself back fit in order to become a regular once again.
