These Celtic fans have been reacting to footage of defender Christopher Jullien as he recovers from injury.

The Frenchman, valued at £4.95m on Tansfermarkt, suffered a knee injury during their 3-0 win over Dundee United back in January, with the initial diagnosis being that he would be out for up to four months. However, there was some positive news to come out from his camp today, as he posted footage on his Twitter account of himself walking without the use of crutches.

He did still have a rather chunky protective knee brace on at the same time, so there is still some way to go before he’s on the pitch, but it’s certainly a step in the right direction. And Celtic fans were delighted to see the progress being made, with some of them even making a few jokes that he shouldn’t have to wait to get back into the first-team, and that he could still do a job as he is:

“Mate the way our defence is at the moment you play, leg brace and all!!!”

“Can of Irn Bru and few paracetamol and your ready to go this weekend”
“Still quicker than Duffy”
“Speedy recovery big man hh”
“Be strong big chap. Glasgow Celtic needs u mate. Get well soon”
“We need you big man”
“The 10’s back on”

Is Christopher Jullien the best defender at the club?

No, he's not that good

Yes, he's a class player

The defender is currently rated as the club’s best player so far this season, which just goes to show how important he’s been.

Having been a regular under Neil Lennon at the start of the season, you’d imagine that he’ll come back into the team anyway. Although whether or not Lennon will be around to manage him is a whole different matter.
