Fans of Celtic have taken to Twitter to criticise the performance of the Hoops attacking midfielder, Ryan Christie, in the Bhoys’ Scottish Premiership clash on Saturday.
Prior to the Aberdeen game, Christie had featured in 26 league fixtures for Celtic this season, scoring four goals and providing seven assists, as well as averaging a WhoScored match rating of 7.37 – ranking him the club’s second-best performer in the Scottish top flight.
However, after John Kennedy opted to start the £8.1 million-rated 26-year-old in the club’s fixture against Aberdeen on Saturday, despite bagging his eighth assist of the season for Odsonne Edouard’s opener, fans of the club appeared far from happy with the Scotland international’s performance, with many taking to Twitter to share their frustrations with the player.
Has Christie been poor against Aberdeen?
Yes
No
So, what exactly did these Celtic fans have to say in reaction to the performance of Christie against Aberdeen?
“Ryan Christie fires over the bar. Just keep that on cut and paste every week. Hopeless.”
“Christie with the open goal. Come on hit the target.”
“Christie taking that right off Eddy’s toe man, I hate him something awful.”
“Christie needs hooking again.”
“Remove Christie from the Celtic team and I guarantee they instantly improve.”
“I’d much rather give youth a chance on our right-wing than continue playing Christie there.”
“Christie loses the ball more often than he keeps possession.”
“Christie man… So wasteful. Even Kennedy’s raging with his end product.”
All in all, it would appear as if these Celtic fans were far from happy with the performance of the £7.7k per week Christie so far, with some slamming the midfielder’s wasteful shooting, while others called for Kennedy to take the player off.
