Tottenham Hotspur fans have been reacting to the performance of Matt Doherty during their Europa League tie with Wolfsberger.
So far in the competition, Jose Mourinho has tended to rotate his options, and tonight was no different, as he made seven changes to the XI that started their last game against Manchester City, so a good performance tonight would not only help Spurs in their hunt for a trophy, but also give those players a reason to be in the first team more often.
Right-back Doherty, though, didn’t exactly get off to the best of starts in this game, not doing himself any favours when it comes to his competition with Serge Aurier for the first-choice role at the back – which is why the fans watching at home did not hold back in their views on him:
“Nah man rip up Doherty’s ticket and leave him in Budapest”
Do you think Doherty is good enough for Spurs?
Yes
No
Which is perhaps a bit harsh given how big a part he played in the opening goal with a neat pass to Gareth Bale, but looks like that wasn’t enough to keep him out of the headlines.
