Fans of Tottenham Hostpur have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relayed the news that Eric Dier would not be involved in Spurs’ Premier League fixture on Sunday.
Despite having started 19 of Tottenham’s 21 Premier League matches prior to the West Bromwich Albion fixture, over which he has averaged a WhoScored match rating of 6.73, Dier was a notable exclusion from Jose Mourinho’s matchday squad against the Baggies on Sunday.
And, after the team was announced shortly before the rather convincing 2-0 victory for Spurs, which was then was relayed on Twitter by Daily Hotspur, fans of the club flocked to have their say on Dier’s absence, with many appearing to be delighted by the news the centre-back would not be involved in the clash.
Is Dier a good enough centre-back for Spurs?
Yes
No
So, what exactly did these Tottenham Hotspur fans have to say in reaction to Eric Dier’s omission from the squad to face West Bromwich Albion?
“Good, pls be the start of Jose actually picking players based on recent performances.”
“Let’s keep it this way please.”
“Finally.”
“YES”
“And long may it continue!”
“Huge W”
“YESSSS”
“LET’S GO”
“YESSSSS GET IN”
All in all, it would appear that the vast majority of these Tottenham fans were delighted with Mourinho’s decision to leave Dier out of the squad to face West Brom, and, considering the club kept a clean sheet in the fixture – albeit against a side in 19th place in the Premier League table, who have scored just 18 times this season – it would appear that the 58-year-old made the right call.
