Tottenham Hotspur fans have been reacting to a post from midfielder Pierre-Emile Højbjerg on his Instagram page.
The Dane, valued at £27m on Transfermarkt, posted this photo (via @hojbjerg23 on Instagram) of himself looking rather dejected following their loss to West Ham United at the weekend, a result that leaves them very much on the outside looking in when it comes to qualifying for Europe through the league.
The message with the post read “We will rise again. That’s what we do. Still time to achieve big things. Come on.”
The message was then relayed to fans on Twitter via @TheSpursExpress, who didn’t seem to be too enthralled with the message that he was trying to send out. Indeed, they seemed to follow the ‘actions speak louder than words’ mindset, demanding to see more of an effort out on the pitch:
“He definitely needs to rise again on a personal point of view. He’s been off the pace massively the last few weeks”
Do you think Hojbjerg needs to be rested?
Yes
No
Which does come across as a bit harsh considering he’s Spurs’ 6th highest-rated player on WhoScored, so it’s not as if he’s had a disaster of a season with the club.
