Tottenham Hotspur fans on Twitter have been responding to the latest social media post from Lilywhites journalist Alasdair Gold.

This comes after Gold recently shared a post on his official Twitter page commenting on Davinson Sanchez’s attempt to tackle Jesse Lingard during the build-up of the Englishman’s goal for West Ham United in the 2-1 defeat against the Hammers.

A nice easy one to start off with, who is Tottenham's record signing?

In his post, Gold said that the defender’s attempted challenge on Lingard was “possibly the weakest attempt at stopping a player” he’d ever seen.

Gold also added that it was “pretty much politely tapping him on the shoulder to ask him to stop his run.”

This post then gathered a lot of replies from Spurs fans who were quick to share their thoughts on Gold’s post.

So, what did these Spurs fans have to say in response to Gold’s post about Sanchez?

“One of if not the worse centre backs in the league this season”

@andrewlucas44

“He shouldn’t be playing especially after last week”

@DarrenT71

“He should never be allowed to put a Spurs shirt again”

@Phone_1_23

“The worst centre back pairing I have ever seen in Spurs shirts. It’s shambolic every game”

@cmpiper

“He regresses every game. A liability who makes others nervous around him.”

@Scott_Shear

“How Sanchez makes the squad is beyond belief. Don’t think he’d get into any epl teams”

@unseenforces07

“Terrible player Sanchez. Need to move him on in the summer. I’d rather see Tanganga moved to the middle and get Sanchez warming a seat on the bench.”

@TrevorSutcliff2

“Davinson is the worst defender in the squad / league”

@rolyrat

“I am at a loss for words”

@KotDataScience

Looking at these replies from Gold’s post, it appears that this group of Spurs fans think the Colombian, who is currently valued at £36 million, is not good enough to play for the north London club.

Given how Gold gave the 24-year-old a disappointing match rating of 4/10 for his performance against West Ham for Football.London, saying that he always “has one big mistake in him in every game which lets down the rest of his play,” this supports what these fans have been saying about him.

Should Spurs get rid of Davinson Sanchez?

Moving forward, in our view, Sanchez will need to turn his form around and start putting in some strong performances if he wants to get these fans back on his side.
