Many Newcastle United fans have taken to Twitter to slate Jamal Lewis over his performance in the Toon’s latest Premier League game versus Southampton.

The £13.5m-rated man started this clash at left-back for the Toon. As explained by ChronicleLive ahead of kick-off, he overcame ‘a hamstring knock to start’ this one.

However, it seems like his determination to play this game failed to win over many Newcastle supporters, judging by what they’ve been saying about his performance on Twitter.

So, what have these Newcastle United fans been saying about Lewis?

Per Sky Sports, the left-back allowed Saints winger Nathan Redmond to get past him in the eighth minute to set up Takumi Minamino for a goalscoring opportunity and it appears that the 23-year-old’s attempt to stop Redmond has summed up his overall performance in the eyes of many Toon fans, as they’ve been raging at the player on Twitter.
