Newcastle United fans were left incredibly angry at the comments made by Steve Bruce following their loss to Crystal Palace last night.
Having picked up their first win in some time with victory over Everton at the weekend, the game acted as the perfect opportunity to try and keep hold of that momentum and potentially ease the pressure that Bruce was feeling after the bad run of results.
However, that wasn’t the case as they fell 2-1 to Roy Hodgson’s side despite taking the lead inside the first two minutes and, statistically at least, appearing to be much the better side. They had more shots, possession and shots on target than their opponents over the course of the 90 minutes.
This would explain why Bruce came across as quite positive with his post-match thoughts, saying he was pleased with the performance, however that wasn’t the view that the Newcastle fans on social media, who tore into the head coach for his comments:
“The performance was NOT pleasing. That second half was a tactical disgrace. Shambolic.”
