Newcastle United fans have been left overwhelmed with their first glimpse of new signing Joe Willock in Newcastle United gear.
The club announced late last night that they had signed the 21-year-old on loan from fellow Premier League side Arsenal until the end of the season. Having been seen as a rotational player under Mikel Arteta, this will be a chance for him to get some minutes under his belt, and give Steve Bruce an extra body to work with as he tries to ward off the threat of relegation.
And if the write-up about him from The Chronicle is anything to go by, then he comes off as a real coup for the Magpies, and he further managed to endear himself with the message that he sent upon his arrival at the club.
His words obviously inspired a lot of the Newcastle faithful, as they welcomed him to St. James’ Park with open arms on social media, though some took the opportunity to have a dig at Bruce:
“Welcome to SJP Joe. Give 110% every week and the fans will be singing your name loud enough, so that your old team mates can hear”
“Welcome to @NUFC Joe. Work hard and play with pride and the fans will love you”
Are you happy Newcastle signed Willock?
Yes
No, would prefer someone else
He certainly looks to have made a good first impression, now let’s see if he can match that with his performances on the pitch.
