Fans of Newcastle United have taken to Twitter to criticise the performance of the Magpies left-back, Jamal Lewis, in their Premier League fixture against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday.
Prior to the Wolves fixture, Lewis had featured in 22 Premier League games for Steve Bruce’s side, over which the defender had provided his teammates with one assist, as well as averaging a rather disappointing WhoScored match rating of 6.34 – ranking him as the club’s sixth-worst performer in the top flight.
And, it would appear the £13.5 million-rated 23-year-old has once again failed to impress the fans of Newcastle with his performance against Wolves, as many of the St James’ Park faithful took to Twitter to share their frustrations with Lewis’ display.
Was Lewis a good signing for Newcastle?
So, what exactly did these Newcastle United fans have to say in reaction to Jamal Lewis’ performance against Wolverhampton Wanderers?
“I’m not convinced by Jamal Lewis at all. Just looks like he’s a rabbit in the headlights.”
“Jamal Lewis is our worst player.”
“Jamal Lewis at £18m makes Joelinton look a bargain.”
“Jamal Lewis is an absolute liability we need to cover his inability to cover when the opposition is attacking our right flank.”
“Lewis is awful! Stealing a living.”
All in all, it would appear as if these Newcastle fans are far from happy with the display of Lewis thus far, with some claiming the left-back is stealing a living at the club, while others stated their belief that the defender makes the signing of Joelinton look like a bargain.
