Fans of Newcastle United have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which saw ChronicleLive’s John Gibson discuss the positioning of Magpies attacking midfielder, Miguel Almiron.
Having been deployed in a number of positions across the Newcastle midfield and attack so far this season, including central midfielder, left midfield, left-wing and right-wing, in recent fixtures, Steve Bruce has opted to field Almiron in the number 10 position – and to great effect.
Over the club’s last three Premier League matches, the £14.4 million-rated 27-year-old has played in central attacking midfield, earning highly impressive WhoScored match ratings of 7.35, 7.28 and 8.94 for his performances against Everton, Crystal Palace and Southampton respectively.
And, after The Chronicle relayed a clip from their Everything is Black and White podcast on Twitter, in which Gibson questioned why Almiron has often been played out wide throughout his time at the club, fans of Newcastle flocked to have their say on the matter with many solely blaming Steve Bruce.
Do you think this is Bruce's fault?
Yes
No
So, what exactly did these Newcastle United fans have to say in reaction to The Chronicle’s tweet regarding Miguel Almiron?
“I can think of one big one off the top of my head…”
“Our manager! He wasn’t even getting in the team at one point, don’t forget that!”
“Because Bruce doesn’t know what he’s doing. Even the armchair manager could see this potential.”
“Because we have not got a manager that believes in any tactics.”
“Because we have a PE teacher for a manager. He has no idea what he’s doing.”
“Basically, because the manager is clueless”
“Because Jones wasn’t here.”
“Steve Bruce… simples. #Clueless #BruceOut”
“Manager is clueless”
All in all, it would appear that the vast majority of these Newcastle fans blame only one person for not playing Almiron in the number 10 role sooner, with almost all of them attributing the failure to Steve Bruce.
