Starting with an easy one, how much did Joelinton cost Newcastle when he swapped Hoffenheim for Tyneside?

The article claims that Newcastle are monitoring the progress of Brentford striker Ivan Toney alongside fellow Premier League clubs Leicester City and West Ham United in regards to a potential summer transfer move.

This post then gathered a lot of replies from Toon fans who were quick to share their thoughts on this latest news.

So, what did these Newcastle fans have to say in response to this transfer news on Toney?

“It just gets worse and worse for the toon fans, there’s so much going on that they should have there own TV series.”

@FyldesHardest

Haha not a hope in hell he’d come back to the disaster of our club @nufc

@powdy23

“Nee way Ashley is paying 25 mil for a player he sold for 650k dream on”

@KeithFenwick10

“What an incompetent club we are”

@andycowens

“Lunacy”

@JumpersGeordie

“We are just embarrassing all around”

@Mark14Robinson

Newcastle originally signed Toney back in 2015 from Northampton Town for a fee of £324k. After numerous loan spells away from St. James’ Park, the striker eventually left the Tyneside club for a move to Peterborough United for a fee of £351k.

Since joining Brentford in September last year, the 24-year-old, who is currently valued at £9 million, has made 35 appearances for the Championship side in which he has managed to score 24 goals and provide nine assists along the way (per Transfermarkt).

Would you like to see Toney return to Newcastle?

Looking at the replies to this post, it appears that these Newcastle fans aren’t confident of this proposed deal for the former Toon man.

Given how current Newcastle striker Callum Wilson is out injured, it seems that Steve Bruce’s side could do with someone with Toney’s goalscoring capabilities in their squad to replace the injured Englishman.
