Leeds United fans have been making jokes at the expense of Jordan Pickford ahead of their game with Everton tomorrow night.
Toffees boss Carlo Ancelotti revealed in his press conference that the stopper will be unavailable for the game at Elland Road with a ‘side injury’, which means that backup goalkeeper Robin Olsen could be set to replace him.
And whilst it might be seen as good news in some areas when your opponent is down their first-choice option in any position, that doesn’t seem to be the case when it comes to Pickford. The England shot-stopper has developed something of a reputation when it comes to making errors in games over the past few years, so the news didn’t exactly go down well with Leeds United fans on social media.
They clearly hoped that they might be in for an easy ride with Pickford in goal, but now they’ve got to prepare for a different challenge altogether:
“Gutted Pickford isn’t playing.”
Is Pickford missing good or bad news for Leeds?
Yes
No
Whether or not it will end up being a difficult game for them, we’ll just have to wait and see. While it’s hardly sportsmanlike to celebrate the injury of a rival, at the end of the day, it seems these fans merely want to build up positivity ahead of the game.
