Leeds United journalist Phil Hay has been sharing his thoughts on whether or not Whites manager Marcelo Bielsa will sign a new deal at the Yorkshire club.

This comes after Hay recently co-hosted the latest episode of The Phil Hay Show where he spoke about the biggest talking points surrounding the Yorkshire club at this moment in time.

Nice easy one to start off with, what number does Phillips wear for Leeds United?

On the subject of Bielsa and the likelihood of him putting pen to paper on a new deal at Elland Road, Hay had this to say on the matter. (26.47)

He said: “I feel almost ready to hang my hat on it, he seems very settled, he seems very satisfied with everything that’s going on.

“To speak to people who kind of know a little about what’s in his head, I think the inclination is definitely there to do year four.”

Bielsa was appointed as Leeds’ manager back in July 2018. Since then, the 65-year-old has taken charge of 127 matches with the Yorkshire club, winning 67, drawing 19 and losing 41 in the process (per Transfermarkt).

During that time, the Argentine has taken Leeds from the Championship to the Premier League after a 16-year absence.

TIF Thoughts on Phil Hay’s comments about Bielsa and his future at Leeds…

Given how Bielsa recently shared his praise for the Yorkshire club and the gratitude he has for being in charge at Elland Road saying that there is “nothing better than what Leeds represents as a job,” this suggests to us that he would be open to the idea of staying at the club after his current deal expires at the end of this current season.

Do you think Leeds will finish in the top half of the table this season?

In our view, if Bielsa can end this season with Leeds in the top half of the Premier League table, he should stay on for another year and see if he can help the team progress further.
