West Bromwich Albion journalist Joe Masi has made a claim concerning Baggies manager Sam Allardyce and his future at the Midlands club.

This comes after Masi recently made an appearance on the Express & Star’s West Brom-themed podcast Baggies Broadcast where he spoke about a number of topics concerning the Midlands club.

Nice easy one to start off with, who currently sits top of the table?

On the subject of Allardyce and the likelihood of him staying at the club if they get relegated this season, Masi had this to say on the matter. (59.39)

He said: “He has said if we’re in the Premier League, he’s staying so he wants to be in the Premier League with Albion next season.

“If we go down, will he stay? I really don’t know. If you’d asked me a month ago, I definitely would have said no. Part of me feels like he’s growing into it more, I feel like he is really enjoying the job.”

Allardyce joined the club back in December after the sacking of their previous manager Slaven Bilic.

TIF Thoughts on Joe Masi’s comments on Allardyce and his future at West Brom…

Given how West Brom have only managed to win one out of the 13 games Allardyce has taken charge of since arriving at the club, drawing four and losing eight along the way, it seems that the manager has not had the most ideal start to his tenure at the club.

If West Brom do get relegated, would you like Allardyce to stay on as manager?

Yes

Yes

No

No

With the Baggies sat in the relegation zone of the Premier League table, 11 points away from safety, it feels that, in our view, Allardyce will have to decide whether or not he would want to continue with the club as their manager if they do end up back in the Championship, which seems likely at this moment in time.
