Leeds United fans have been reacting to the performance of Liam Cooper during their game with Wolverhampton Wanderers.
With Leeds having been lauded for their entertaining style of play and having come into the game as the joint-fifth-highest scorers in the Premier League this season, it does come as something of a surprise whenever they come out of a game without scoring a goal.
And one person who played a major part in that problem was captain Cooper. The 29-year-old, valued at £6.3m on Transfermarkt, had a number of opportunities to find the back of the net at Molineux, including one right before the home side took the lead, which just summed up his night.
And Leeds fans let him know just how disappointed they were with his efforts up front as well as at the back, which ended up being very costly:
“I always hesitate as he’s the default scapegoat, but Liam Cooper should have us ahead.”
Is Liam Cooper good enough to play in the Premier League?
Yes
No
It looks as if they’ve given him some slack for being a central defender, but even so, you’d at least hope he got one of them to go in. As far as hopes of seeing him dropped from the starting XI are concerned, it is probably wishful thinking for some of these fans, given Bielsa’s tendency to avoid much squad rotation at Elland Road.
