Leeds United fans have been reacting to some comments made by Marcelo Bielsa during his recent press conference about the team’s style of play.

‘Bielsaball’ has been a huge topic of discussion this season, with some referring to it as entertaining, whilst there have been a few results that have caused some rather interesting comments about whether or not things need to change.

Bielsa himself has had to launch some staunch defences in recent months about it, and he doubled down on those comments ahead of their game with Crystal Palace on Monday night. He said (via Phil Hay) that finishing 8th whilst not playing well was worse than finishing 12th by playing good football.

Leeds United fans couldn’t get enough of his comments as they poured onto social media to praise the head coach for sticking by his philosophy:

“What a man! As long as we finish above 17th in this 1st season back I really don’t mind where we finish! It’s the best & most exciting brand of attacking football I’ve ever seen us play & it’s a joy to watch! Stick with Bielsa & we’ll continue to reap the rewards over time”

“What a guy we have in charge of us we are so lucky to have Bielsa as our manager”
“I’m in total agreement with the Boss Man, the Leeds way at the moment covers all emotions and is highly entertaining. So long as we stay in this league for years to come I’m happy”
“The man’s philosophy is on a different planet to anyone else. Thank god we have him. Humble, dedicated and with so much capability and really gets the club the fans and city”
“Best answer ever”
“Contrast to Mourinho for sure”

Of course, the ideal thing would be to finish eighth and play well at the same time, but we’ll just have to wait and see how they finish up when the season is over.
