Leeds United fans have been reacting to the performance of goalkeeper Illan Meslier during the game against Everton.
It was never going to be an easy game against an Everton side who, despite being inconsistent at times this season, are having something of a memorable year, even being tipped to possibly challenge for a European spot. But having come into the game following two successive wins in the league, you’d expect the home side to be in with a decent shout of picking something up.
However, Meslier didn’t appear to be at his best in helping out Marcelo Bielsa’s men, with many fans slamming his performance on social media by particularly focusing on his distribution – something that he is usually renowned for:
“Meslier inspires no confidence whatsoever. His distribution is shocking at times, terrified to come for crosses.”

The only saving grace for Meslier is that given the relationship that some Leeds United fans have with backup goalkeeper Kiko Casilla, there may not be many calling for the two to swap positions any time soon. And having only paid £5m for him this summer and being just 20 years old, he should get a little bit of leeway, all things considered.
