Many Leeds United fans have been talking about Ben White after former goalkeeper Paul Robinson gave his opinion about the Brighton defender.

Paul Robinson was recently talking to Football Insider about White’s situation. He believes that many clubs are looking at elite level centre-backs and he expects White to be a man in demand in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Robinson claimed that he expects White to be in demand from Leeds, Liverpool and Tottenham and believes that if you’re a top-level central defender, you will be in demand these days.

A report about Robinson’s comments was relayed on Twitter by journalist James Marshment. Many Whites fans made their views clear about their former player.

What did Leeds fans make of this claim about Ben White?

“I agree with most of the comments on here. I’d love to see him back at Leeds but cannot see that happening after our summer recruitment. Phillips backup, left-back and another goalie much more pressing. Would love to be proved wrong though!

“I’d love to see this happen, I’m convinced that he’d be much better at Leeds than at Brighton. Players play better at different clubs because they feel more at home. Smith & Kewell played much better at ER than they ever did anywhere once they left, it’s just the way it is.”
“Wouldn’t be a bad option in midfield alongside KP in front of Koch/ Llorente. He could then slot in to CB if there are injuries or a need to play 3 at the back without the need to move KP or Ayling from their best positions.”

White was on loan at Leeds for the 2019/20 Championship campaign and he was a regular for Marcelo Bielsa’s men in that season. He made 49 appearances in all competitions for the Whites, also scoring once. He made 46 Championship appearances for the club and he is currently valued at £19.80m.

Nice easy one to start off with, what number does Phillips wear for Leeds United?

He has been a regular for Brighton this season, playing 23 times for the Seagulls and picking up a rating of 6.64/10. Apart from playing at centre-back, he has also played in midfield.
He’s clearly versatile, offers Premier League experience and knows what it takes to play for the Whites. So there’s no surprise why some Leeds fans would like White back at Elland Road.
