Fans of Leeds United have taken to Twitter to criticise the first-half performance of United centre-back, Liam Cooper, in the Whites’ Premier League clash with Southampton.

So far this season, Cooper has been one of Marcelo Bielsa’s stand out players over his 18 Premier League appearances, making an average of 2.8 tackles, 2.4 interceptions, 2.9 clearances and winning 3.9 aerial duels, culminating in an average WhoScored match rating of 7.06 – ranking him as the club’s joint third-best performer in the top flight, prior to the Southampton game.

Nice easy one to start off with, what number does Phillips wear for Leeds United?

However, after Bielsa afforded the £6.3 million-rated 29-year-old his 19th league appearance of the season against the Saints on Tuesday evening, fans of Leeds appeared far from happy with the first-half display of the Scotland international, with many taking to Twitter to vent their frustrations.

Is Cooper good enough for Leeds?

So, what exactly did these Leeds United fans have to say in reaction to Liam Cooper’s first-half performance?

“Anyone trying to tell me Cooper is good enough can do one.”

@LufcLuca_

“Cooper the traffic cone.”

@LUFC_Henry

“Cooper – pointless free kicks.”

@georgeLUFC11

“Cooper done like a kipper. Naive.”

@thetonytinman

“That is absolutely awful from Cooper.”

@BrowneyBrowne

“Been awful. Cooper terrible.”

@tom28542744

“Cooper has had a shocking start.”

@xlewjayx

A 12-year-old skipping past cooper like he’s not there.”

@Mazzaleeds

All in all, it would appear these Leeds United fans have been far from impressed with the performance of Cooper so far, so, hopefully for the defender and for Leeds, he can up his game during the second period.
